Musheng won the first Prize of
the 15th
International Musical Composition Prize of
Ciutat de Tarragona
(Spain)
International Musical Composition Prize of Tarragona City Grant award for the score "Dream variation" work for Orchestra by Chinese composer Musheng Chen.
The winning work will be released during the year 2008 by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra National and Catalonia (OBC). The jury chose the winner from among a total of 110 scores filed. The scores came from 29 different countries of the five continentes.

the 25th I.C.O.M.S International Composition Competition (Turin, Italy)
The 25th International Composition Competition ICOMS - City of Turin, has been taken place at the Saluzzo High Music School, 1st July 2007. The winners are:
First prize: MUSHENG CHEN (China): Les franges du rêve I for flute in sol and harp. The winning composition will be presented by the Ensemble Europeo Antidogma Musica in the International Festival “Settembre Musica Torino-Milano”: 25 September 2007, 17 pm, Regal Small
Second prize: DAVID SCARCELLA (Italy): Transparencies for ensemble

Musheng's new orchestra piece A Dream in the Peony Garden [Yun5], which was be co-commissioned by Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Young. Euro. Classic. The work could be regarded as the spirit reverberation of the composer for that ancient classic drama-Qunqu Opera The Peony Pavilion.
